Identification method
1. Smell
Rubbing with a file on the cross-section of the floor generates heat, allowing formaldehyde to fully evaporate (formaldehyde is released at an accelerated rate above 25 degrees Celsius, and can also smell some irritating odors). At this time, you can smell it and generally smell three different levels of odor:
The first type: pungent odor. If the floor has such a smell, it indicates that it contains a large amount of formaldehyde. When choosing, it is necessary to be cautious and it is best not to purchase it;
The second type: unable to smell, this type of flooring is priced at over 200 yuan in China;
The third type: You can smell a faint wooden aroma, which indicates that the glue content is very low. It can reach the European standard E1 level
2. Soak in water
Some people say that this method is unscientific and even reinforced flooring cannot be soaked in water, but I have conducted some experiments on my own and come to another conclusion
(1) One week later, the floor sank and the color of the water turned yellow and black, containing a large amount of impurities
(2) After 15 days, maggots grew on the floor, and this problem occurred because the floor contained a large amount of impurities.
3. Look
Look at the substrate, break the floor apart, and look at the substrate inside. Good substrates have no impurities inside, and the color is relatively pure. Poor flooring substrates can see a large amount of impurities with the naked eye. Most domestic flooring uses fast-growing forests, and wood is used from 3 to 5 years ago. However, imported flooring, especially FSC certified boards, have strict restrictions on wood types, so wooden substrates are better.
